Tuesday - Day Two!

We woke up at the crack of dawn to ready the troops with nutrition for war. Gene, Alex, Tyler, and Caleb scrambled eggs, set out cereal, plates, utensils, and they set out lunch makings. Today we had shredded cheddar cheese and salsa with our scrambled eggs since today is taco Tuesday and the fixings were available.

Once we arrived on the job site, we worked on our geometry and endurance, cutting perfect angles to place trim then in walked the taskmaster who made Gene paint touchups until his arm fell off and we are currently working on reattaching it. While some of us are doing that the others secured cabinets, hung mirrors, and tried not to get sidetracked by the power of our own reflections. To finish up the work day Suzie dropped a mountain of dirt for us to battle. We fought valiantly and dispersed the dirt throughout the land.

We also created the sky by painting the ceiling of the porch (that we had just installed) blue which creates the impression of a safe haven from wasps who idiotically think the blue ceiling is the sky so they won't build nests.

Caleb hit gold while spreading dirt for a flower bed when he found a horseshoe. We are hoping it is an omen for good luck.

After picking ourselves up and brushing ourselves off, we headed to the thrift store to see what treasures we might uncover. Many treasures were found.

We went down to Dan and Suzie’s house and swam in the pool for over 2 hours. We had a diving board jump competition, used the slide, swam with their dogs, and played a vicious game of basketball. Anna hit the winning shot. Despite our best efforts, we remained allies. We will be better tomorrow.

Rob, Anna, Barbara, and David prepared dinner.  The delicious ground beef for our taco Tuesday buffet was sautéed by our resident vegetarian (Rob). Despite being unable to eat it.

After supper our wonderful devotion was led by Cora, JinHee, Melanie, and Pam. They introduced a new reflection for the day; rose, thorn and bud - a highlight, low point and opportunity.

Tonight's blog is brought to you by Alex, Caleb, Gene, and Tyler.

Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn. -John Wesley
